I was provided with a 2020 Mazda3 Hatch to test drive for a couple of weeks to help facilitate this review. As always, opinions are my own.
I’ve had an adoration for Mazda cars for as long as I can remember, since my very first car happened to be a Mazda. A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of driving the new 2020 Mazda3 Hatch around for two weeks, and boy, did I fall in love!
During this time of social distancing, my husband and I like to take long country drives. It’s great because we’re surrounded by country roads, so whichever direction we head out in, there are plenty of beautiful open roads to explore. The 2020 Mazda3 Hatch provided us with a comfortable, yet sporty ride for our journeys, and handled just amazingly on the hilly, winding country roads that we often came upon.
The 2020 Mazda3 Hatch is fully loaded, and includes a large navigation screen right on the dash so that you can easily navigate to your destination, or find your way back home from a scenic country drive. It even offers a sport button, which gives you a bit more pick up!
The interior of the car is comfortable, thanks to the S Curve seating, which fits your body and helps to prevent fatigue on long rides. The front driver and passenger seats have their own climate control, as well as heated seats.
The gauges are strategically placed for easy visibility while driving, and buttons are placed so that you can operate everything without taking your eyes off of the road. The 12 speaker Bose audio system sounds amazing, which enhances the integrated Mazda Harmonics Acoustics.
Don’t let the small size of this car fool you. The 2020 Mazda3 Hatch actually has a spacious front seat, and the back seat is large enough to comfortably fit three. Here are some of the specs below, and you can check them all out here.
- 5-passenger seating
- 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback
- Leatherette-trimmed sport seats
- Headrests, adjustable – front & rear – all seating positions
- Leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear selector
The 2020 Mazda3 Hatch also has ample storage in the back, making it perfect for a quick day road trip, or even just to haul your groceries. In fact, there is plenty of storage packed into this car.
- Glove compartment
- Front center console armrest with covered storage compartment
- Front door storage pockets with bottle holders
- Front passenger-side seatback pocket
- Cargo cover
The exterior of the car is sleek, and sporty looking, and I just love the Polymetal Gray Metallic color! I highly recommend taking this car for a test drive to see for yourself!
See what I thought of the Mazda6, and the Mazda CX-9 as well.
