Step into Summer – Well Traveled Living Rectangle Pagoda Patio Fireplace Review & Giveaway {CLOSED}

Blog· Giveaways· Review

Photobucket

Welcome to our Step into Summer event! Jennifer and I have some wonderful things lined up for you to help you get ready for summer. Make sure you visit Jennifer at Eighty MPH Mom daily to see what she has in store for you too. Many days we will be reviewing and giving away the same item on both blogs – that is two chances for you to win!

A majority of the summertime for my family is spent outdoors. We do a lot of fun stuff, including backyard barbecues. Our cook outs usually run into the night, so it gets quite chilly out there. Instead of heading in for the night, we like to get a fire going. We’ve had quite a few over the years, so many in fact that our last fire pit had to be retired. I wish I had a picture to show you. It was horrible!

I have been searching for a new pit for quite some time, I’d say a couple of years. I have seen a few I liked, but the Man didn’t. He liked some, but I didn’t. No matter what, we could not seem to agree on something. It was actually getting a little ridiculous! Lucky for us {and our poor old fire pit}, Well Traveled Living decided to participate in this event and sent me the Rectangle Pagoda Patio Fireplace!

“Our Rectangle Pagoda Patio Fireplace makes the perfect free standing outdoor fireplace for patio entertaining. Constructed of sturdy black powder coated steel, this handsome unit allows a 360 degree view of the fire. Comes with fire tool.
Features:

  • Unique decorative design
  • Black steel powder coated finish
  • Steel grate for wood
  • Fire tool included
  • High temperature painted screen on all four sides

Assembled Dimensions: 28.37? L x 24.43? W x 40.19? H, Weight: 46.2 lbs.;

Carton Dimensions: 30? L x 26? W x 11? H, Weight: 47 lbs.”

This fireplace was so easy to assemble. I did a lot of it myself, until I needed help that is! But… that’s only because I don’t have 4 arms. The fact that I started putting it together backwards at first may have had something to do with it too, oops!

We absolutely adore our fire pit. It works great and looks wonderful in our yard. It’s definitely nicer looking than the last one we had! We did end up putting bricks underneath though because it’s lower to the ground than our last fire pit, so it ended up burning some of the grass. I think it looks nicer that way anyway. Oh, and don’t mind those little marks you see on it. That’s not discoloration. They’re drips of lighter fluid because the Man lit the fire the lazy way.

We’ve had quite a few fires in our Rectangle Pagoda Patio Fireplace since we got it. Some nights during the week, we even fire it up, just to sit and relax in the backyard. We’ve gotten so many compliments on it from numerous people who have came to visit. Everyone thinks it looks great, and most have never seen a similar one in stores. I have to say, I haven’t either.

Step into Summer – Steve Spangler Science Sun Sensitive Fabric Review & Giveaway {CLOSED}

“Nobody has more fun teaching science than Steve Spangler. He earned his credentials as a science author, teacher, professional speaker, toy designer and an Emmy award-winning television personality. But, he remains a big kid at heart as he teaches people how to launch potatoes, whip up the perfect batch of slime and turn an ordinary bottle of soda into an erupting geyser of fun. His best-selling science kits and educational toys help to get kids excited about science at home, and his recent appearances on a number of network television shows, including the Ellen DeGeneres Show, demonstrate his true passion for making learning fun.”

I love experimenting and doing fun stuff with the kids. When I came across Steve Spangler Science, I couldn’t believe how much cool stuff they sold!

I am a butterfly fanatic. They are by far my most favorite of creatures. I saw the Butterfly Pavilion and immediately fell in love! I could watch the life cycle of butterflies with this. Now that would be awesome! I think my kids would get a kick out of it too!

I had the opportunity to try out the Sun Sensitive Fabric for my review. I had never even heard of it until asked to review it, but once I watched the video I was all for it! It looked like so much fun!

It’s super cool how this fabric works. You simply pin it to cardboard, then lay a shape on top of it. You can use any shape you want. Let your imagination run wild! Then you lay it in the sun for a few minutes, rinse it off and voila… You have a cool new print on the fabric.

Below you’ll see a video. I strongly encourage watching it just so you can see how it works and how easy it is to do!

Of course we tried our own experiment too! My sister has been here for a few days and she made a cutout of a butterfly, then traced it onto her foot. I thought it looked super cool and asked her to make another for this experiment. I used that and I grabbed a birdhouse from the kitchen, then set off on my journey to the backyard. I laid the fabric out, then laid the birdhouse and butterfly cutout on the fabric, let it sit in the sun for a few minutes and this is the result!

I love how they both turned out, but the butterfly is just the coolest. My sister liked it so much that I made another for her. She’s also going to sketch some more things like a flower and a dog so we can see how those turn out!

Buy It!

You can buy Sun Sensitive Fabric for $26.95 and it includes 20 pieces of fabric.

Step into Summer – Bissell Little Green Review

Blog· Review

“BISSELL’s goal is to help you improve the ways you take care of your home, right down to the microscopic irritants. Since 1876, we’ve spent years developing cleaning tools designed to keep your living environment up to the highest standards.”

We are a kid and pet friendly household. As you can imagine, having both of those in your house can mean having stains. The dogs are constantly knocking stuff over that the kids leave lying around within tail’s reach. The kids spill constantly. Lucky for us, we have hard floors throughout the house. Not so lucky for us, is that we have 2 large area rugs in the living room and computer room. They can get dirty pretty fast.

Lucky for us, we got to try out the Little Green cleaner from Bissell. It’s a little portable carpet and upholstery cleaner.

The Little Green is so lightweight and portable that you can even use it on stairs with ease. That would definitely come in handy!

We’ve used it on the rugs, on the furniture and even in the truck. It’s a work vehicle, so you can imagine that it gets just filthy! The man spent the afternoon out there one day and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I looked inside that truck. It was like new again! I wish I would have gotten pictures of that before and after, but I was pretty busy myself that day and the thought of grabbing my camera never did cross my mind.

I did clean a pretty good stain on my rug though and I got some before, during and after shots of that to share. I couldn’t believe how clean it got it! I don’t know what the stain was from, but it was pretty dark. I’m thinking it could have been grease from a shoe or something.

In the first picture, you can really see how dirty it was. The middle picture shows me cleaning it and you can see the difference already. The bottom picture is the after shot. That mark you see through that one is my shadow or something. I must have taken that at a different angle.

I am really happy to say that the Little Green has come in handy for our family on more than one occasion already and I’m sure there will be even more stains to conquer. No doubt the stains will never end. Only in a perfect world would they!

The Little Green is much more convenient than a traditional larger carpet cleaner because of the fact that it’s so small and portable. You can easily get at hard to reach areas and it’s perfect for upholstery. You can get in the crevices of the furniture very easily.

You can connect with Bissell on Facebook and Twitter.

Buy It!

You can buy the Little Green from Bissell for $79.99.

Step into Summer – Zak Designs 2pc Counter Juicer Review & Toy Story 3 6pc. Mealtime Set Giveaway {CLOSED}

“As a global leader in mealtime products, Zak Designs is dedicated to being a leading company in its commitment to protecting the environment. We have taken many steps as a company to ensure that our business goes above and beyond environmental regulations set by local, state and federal agencies.”

I have done a few reviews for Zak Designs in the past. I have been impressed with everything I have tried, and use it all pretty often. I have a couple of serving trays that come in pretty handy for Summertime barbecues and my rose and confetti serving bowls are perfect for entertaining. Everything just looks so much better when your dishes coordinate!

Recently, I received the 2pc Counter Juicer – Kiwi to review. Can you believe that this is my first juicer? I know crazy, right?! I just love it though. It’s so awesome to make freshly squeezed juices like lemonade and orange juice.

The 2pc counter juicer is very easy to use too and holds 3 cups of juice. The lid has a little groove in it that makes it so easy to pour into a pitcher. I can be quite the klutz so the non skid bottom really helps me to avoid spilling! It’s dishwasher safe too, so I can save time cleaning.

Zak Designs recently launched an interactive Mealtime Fun Zone as a site to provide resources for parents to help make mealtime fun. You can share recipes, join the forum and even get helpful parenting links!

Zak Designs has also geared up for this summer’s release of Toy Story 3 and they’ve put together a couple of different mealtime sets for kids that feature the cast of Toy Story! They have a whole bunch of Toy Story 3 products to choose from!

The result is powerful: highly effective, highly affordable products! And GoodSkin Labs products are fragrance free and can be used by anyone to boost their anti-aging skincare regimen.”

When Jennifer said we would be including Tri-Aktiline Instant Deep Wrinkle Filler from Good Skin Labs in the event, I had to laugh a little at first. I told her “I don’t have wrinkles”. She said “Not even around your eyes or mouth?” When I said no, she responded with “Hmpf, you’re lucky then!” I felt bad! Of course I wasn’t trying to be cocky, not one bit. I just really didn’t think I had wrinkles.

Until one day I was staring hard in the mirror and making funny faces. Don’t ask! I have no idea why I was doing that. I’m just silly I suppose!

Well anyway, I found fine lines around my eyes when I smiled big….. Yeah, I wasn’t to thrilled about that.

So of course, I grabbed that tube of Tri-Aktiline Instant Deep Wrinkle Filler and immediately started applying it around my eyes. I have noticed quite a difference and those fine lines aren’t so noticeable anymore!

Wrinkle filler isn’t the only thing Good Skin Labs carry though. As you can see to the right, they carry plumping, clarity and eye care products as well. You can get all over face care all at just one place!
