We received 2 boxes to see what kind of crafts and activities families receive. The first one was called The Familia (Family), a box that let’s you design little peg people to create your family! This was Tot’s favorite. He was so excited to make Daddy, Mommy and Big Brother out of the supplies. Inside the box it came with everything you needed, so I didn’t have to have anything extra besides scissors!
He’s only 5 and is still working on his motor skills, so I helped him with the cutting for the clothes and he helped paste them on and decorate. Even though the activity only lasted for the afternoon, there were so many more ways to play with them after. We created stories one day, used them in playing house and even played Hide & Seek!
The second box we received was The Happy Trunk Pow-Wow box. Inside included crafts for a Dream Catcher, Tomtom Drum, Coil Pots, a paper Tepee and even a Pow-Wow recipe! My husband collects Indian Artifacts so I thought it was a very cute activity for him and Tot to do together. We all made the Dream Catcher (which he thinks catches his truck dreams) and of course the Tomtom Drum is his favorite!
Both of the boxes were a whole lot of fun for us and gave us ample activities for the summer. I can honestly see how this would be the perfect gift to give or have for yourself to keep your kids entertained! The Happy Trunks come in 2 age groups: 3-7 and 8-11 to ensure that the crafts and science kits are age appropriate.
- 3-7 years age group boxes: These are theme activity boxes with art, craft and science activities. Each box has all materials and know how to complete 2-3 projects inspiring creativity and exploration.
- 8-11 years age group boxes: The Happy Trunk boxes for this age group are designed differently. These boxes do not follow a particular theme. Each box comes with 2 projects, one more geared towards arts & crafts, and one towards scientific exploration. All materials and know how included.
It’s really simple to join. You can pick 1 month to test it out, 3 months for the summer or grab 12mo if you are ready to go until next summer!
