I’m not sure how we would have survived the first year of Sonshine’s life without swaddling. If he wasn’t bundled up just so, there was no rest for the wary! Swaddled have become my go to gift for any of my pregnant friends, regardless of time of year or what number pregnancy they’re on, it’s just the perfect gift that has multiple uses! Even though I’m not currently pregnant, I’m always searching for the best swaddled blanket on the market, to add to our “one day, one more” stash and to have on hand for friends in need. Recently, I was made aware of SwaddleDesigns and their collection of Muslin Swaddle Blankets.
I’m a real sucker for a good Muslin blanket and with a new niece on her way soon, I knew this four pack in butterflies and posies would be perfect for the new bundle of joy! Now, I’ve had a few different brands of Muslin swaddles come through and the SwaddleDesigns’ is by far, the softest and most breathable blanket I’ve encountered yet! These swaddle blankets are 100% cotton muslin and pre-washed for maximum softness.
Premium cotton is used to increase the durability and minimize pilling, which is wonderful. They are a pretty thin blanket and if they were any other brand, I would worry about it falling apart, but these swaddled are extremely durable. They’re also generous in size and can be used as a play mat, stroller cover, burp cloth, or even as a nursing blanket, they’re really that large! And if they get a bit dirty, because frankly, kids are messy, they are machine washable too! Anything to make Mom’s job a little easier. And speaking of making life easier:
There are two labels on the swaddle. One that shows you how easy it is to swaddled your baby. I could have used this as a new mom, nobody taught me how to swaddle and it became a trial by error, which can be frustrating when you’re dead tired. The second label is truly unique. The SwaddleClub QR label is sewn into each SwaddleDesigns blanket. Partnered with Dr. Harvey Karp (author of The Happiest Baby on the Block, which was one of my favorite books as a new parent), you simply scan the QR code with your phone and become privy to a free service that provides soothing white noise, short baby care videos, and helpful tips for new parents. I think this is a wonderful service for any new parents to take advantage of. Things can get pretty hairy and having help just a click away can be an invaluable thing. You can also access the website through a computer or tablet, so help is just a few clicks away!
