“Bindi Sue Irwin is only 12 years old and is already an international award-winning celebrity. Born to wildlife conservationists Steve and Terri Irwin, Bindi was just 3 years old when she made her television debut on The Crocodile Hunter. In 2007, Bindi launched her clothing line and TV show. I grew up with “The Crocodile Hunter” and that show used to amaze me. I couldn’t believe how close Steve would get to those crocs! I’ve been following Bindi’s story and shows to an extent since she started appearing more often and I think she’s following in her dad’s footsteps in a sense. She definitely inherited his love for animals!
Bindi’s come out with a new book series, “Bindi Wildlife Adventures”.
“A fast-paced adventure series featuring The Jungle Girl herself! The stories are inspired and co-created by Bindi Irwin, daughter of the iconic wildlife expert, Steve Irwin. The series features the characters of Bindi, her brother Robert, mother Terri, and the Australia Zoo.“
Lil Man is just starting to get into chapter books and I thought these would be a perfect fit for him. He loves animals and he loves adventures. So why not give him some animal adventure stories to read?!
He does a reading log at school and has to read for at least 10-15 minutes each day. He’s started reading Trouble at the Zoo last week and has really enjoyed it. He’s come up to me and told me quite a few things I never knew, so he’s definitely learning something!
“Bindi and her friend Hannah uncover a threat to the endangered antelope of South Africa while on a horse trek.“
Lil Man hasn’t opened up Rescue yet because he’s still on the first book in the series. However, I have flipped through some pages and it’s definitely a good read! Bindi and a friend realize that a nature preserve is being used for illegal hunting and go out on a quest.
I think this series is going to be a huge hit with my Lil Man and he can’t wait to start reading Rescue! The fact that he’s learning things about real animals is great too. He’s definitely an animal lover, so knowledge is great for him in that sense!
