If you have kids in your home, you most likely have heard that there is a new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie in theaters: Alvin and the Chipmunks Chipwrecked. My kids can’t wait to go see it in the theater (we had planned to make that a part of our winter break but unfortunately a visit from the stomach flu got in the way of our plans)! To co-incide with the movie release, Fox Consumer Products has released a darling line of plush beanies, books and a video game (available on Nintendo Wii, XBox 360 with Kinect and Nintendo DS)!
The beanies were definitely popular with my stuffed animal fanatic children (my almost 12 year old daughter has quite the collection!). Simon and Theodore made their way into their collections and are much loved. As with most beanie products, these chipmunks are the perfect size for taking along for a ride to Grandma’s or snuggling up with as they nod off for the night.
The most popular Chipmunks product to arrive in our home has to be the Wii game! Alvin and the Chipmunks Chipwrecked for Wii is a dance game featuring fun, Chipmunk music and kid friendly dancing. To start playing, you take a quick quiz to determine which of the Chipmunks you are most like (we were most like Theodore) and then you move into the dances. Like many dance games, you simply hold the Wii remote and follow the moves on the screen (demonstrated by our Chipmunk friends) to earn points and stars. The better you do following the dance moves, the higher your score. You can use the stars to purchase bonus clothing items the more you play the game.
The game is perfect for kids. The dance moves challenge, but are not too hard to follow for kids. The music is fun and will get them off of the couch and onto the floor dancing along. I really like games like these that fill my kids desires for video games while encouraging them to be active. The fact that it features popular characters makes it even more appealing for my kids.

The game can be purchased for Wii for $29.99. The Beanie Chipmunks retail for $11.99.
