A little New Years Resolution inspiration for you. Who doesn’t like shoes? |
Happy New Year my fitness minded friends! I am back after a crazy couple of weeks, and I need the motivation of the New Year to get me out the door, don’t you? Thank goodness for this time of New Years Resolutions. This time of new beginnings can help inspire us all to make positive changes in our lives.
Here are some tips to keeping those resolutions:
1-Keep is simple- Don’t make crazy, abstract goals!
2-Be specific- Don’t just resolve to lose weight, set an obtainable weight-loss goal.
3-Don’t worry if you miss a day (or two or five)-You haven’t failed unless you let it hold you back! Get right back out there.
4-Don’t be afraid to alter your goals-If you get started and realize that the goal you set for yourself was not realistic, don’t give it up completely, just alter it so that it is obtainable!
Let’s make this journey together bloggy friends! Let me know what your fitness goals are this year in the comments below. I will tell you mine right here:
-Get back into running shape. I got sick back in the Fall and was unable to run for a while, but afterwards I just didn’t start again! This New Year I am getting back into it and planning on some Spring Races to get me moving. I am already signed up for the Ragnar Wasatch Back relay in June and can’t wait 🙂
–Make light strength training and toning routines like yoga and pilates a part of my fitness routine– This year I was plagued with both knee and hip injuries that could have been avoided by strengthening my leg muscles. Strong core and arm muscles would also have helped me to carry my body differently and possibly helped to avoid injury as well.
I can’t wait to read your resolutions!
