“Nature Nate’s history starts with Nathan himself?when a post-honeymoon hobby turned into a mission. Busy juggling a job and a new family, he bought a beehive on a whim. There was just something fascinating about these industrious, honey-making marvels! As with many pastimes, this one soon turned into more full than part time, and after much prayer and long conversations with his wife, Nathan traded his day job for a new life’s work. And Nature Nate’s 100% Pure, Raw and Unfiltered Honey was born.”
Lil Man loves honey. He will eat plain bread with just honey on it; that’s how much he loves it. When I heard about Nature Nate’s 100% Pure, Raw and Unfiltered Honey, I knew that I had to let the boy try it.
Our package was presented beautifully when it arrived; with a little pamphlet on top of fake honeycomb wrapped honey. How clever!
I set the honey on the counter for Lil Man to find when he got home from school that day. I just knew that he would be excited to find honey, one of his favorites. Of course, he asked to try some right away!
He thought that it was quite good, as did I. He used it on bread, just like I knew he would. He also used it on his pancakes one morning, yum! I’ve used it in a few of my recipes including a Brown Sugar Honey Ham Glaze. I’ll be sharing that recipe soon!
Honey has lots of other uses besides in food though. Did you know that you can use honey on your face? Well you can. Honey is a main ingredient of many natural beauty regimens! I’ve shared a few of them with you below.
Honey Face Mask
1. Apply thin layer of raw, unfiltered honey to clean face and leave on for 10 minutes to an hour.
2. Rinse off with warm water, pat face dry.
3. Follow with coconut oil to moisturize (coconut oil is antibacterial as well).
Honey & Egg White Mask
1. Combine 2 tablespoons of raw, unfiltered honey with one organic egg white and apply over clean face.
2. Leave mask on skin 10-15 minutes as you feel the egg tighten.
3. Rinse with warm water.
Lips
1. Mix 1.5 teaspoons raw, unfiltered honey with 1.5 teaspoons sugar and juice from ? lemon.
2. Rub over lips with finger in circular motion to exfoliate; rinse.
3. Combine 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, contents of 1 vitamin E capsule and 1 drop lemon essential oil in another bowl.
4. Dab on lips to moisturize. Extras can be kept in the fridge for a week.
