Based on the same technology as the big $60,000 rigs used in Hollywood, the Smoothee allows you to capture incredible video and still images without the shakes normally associated with hand-held video shot on the go, right out of the box, the very first time.
Like a lot of parents and 20-somethings, I don’t have some fancy camera (which is a shame) to take photos of my kid, food, or that awesome looking sign at the coffee shop. Instead, I grab my iPhone 5 from my back pocket and snap away. This doesn’t always offer me the steadiest, clearest pictures, but I’ve learned a few editing techniques to help and now, even when my hands are shaky from one too many cups of coffee, I’ll be able to keep those photos and videos steady thanks to the Steadicam Smoothee by Tiffen.
The Steadicam Smoothee arrives ready to use. Just attach the clip to your phone, then onto the Steadicam Smoothee and adjust the balance. It’s really that easy, but takes a few moments to get the adjustment correct.
The Steadicam Smoothee feels slightly heavy and awkward when you first start to use it, but as soon as you find that balance, it just “clicks” and you’re able to move about with ease. I can shift around, follow my kid or whatever is going on, and no more wobbly, slightly out of focused pictures!
