Valentine’s Day is one of those special holidays where people like to bake and share sweet treats. Today, I’m sharing these super cute cupcakes that you can make for those special people in your life. The heart Valentine cupcake toppers are super easy to make using candy melts and a squeeze bottle!
You can use your favorite cupcake recipe, or a boxed mix to make your cupcakes. Then use red cupcake liners, or Valentine’s Day cupcake liners to make them festive. Decorate with vanilla frosting and some pink, red and white heart sprinkles. Of course, if you prefer chocolate cupcakes, you could do that too! It’s all about your preference.
Making cupcakes and Valentine cupcake toppers
Once you make these heart Valentine cupcake toppers, and see how quick and easy they are to whip up, you’ll be coming up with all sorts of fun cupcake topper ideas to make! The best part is, they are completely edible!
Ingredients:
- Yellow cake mix (box or favorite recipe)
- Vanilla frosting
- Valentine’s sprinkles – hearts
- ¼ cup pink candy melts
- Cupcakes liners
- Squeeze bottle
- 1M icing tip
- Parchment paper
- Pastry bag
Directions:
Step 1. Line cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
Step 2. Prepare cake mix as directed and bake as directed.
Step 3. While cupcakes are baking, place the candy melts into the squeeze bottle and microwave on high for 30 second increments, until melted, stirring after each heating set.
Step 4. Place a sheet of parchment paper on a tray, table or counter and start piping out hearts with the melted candy in the squeeze bottle. When the “heart†is complete, zigzag lines across the heart to fill it in a bit. (image below)
Step 5. When cupcakes are finished baking, remove from the oven and let cool on the baking rack.
Step 6. Once cupcakes are cooled, place 1M icing tip in pastry bag and fill with vanilla frosting.
Step 7. Frost each cupcake using the 1M icing tip. Start At one edge of the cupcake, work your way around, and end in the middle.
Step 8. Add sprinkles to cupcakes.
Step 9. Place a “heart†that you made with the candy melts in the middle of each cupcake.
