Warm weather and Spring Break are already upon us here in Florida and that means days in the sun. Whether you are just dreaming about your upcoming tropical vacations or if you live in paradise it is time for swimsuit season. Platypus Australia has all the cute children’s swimwear you are looking for in sizes newborn to 14. From itty bitty bikinis to rash guards with maximum UV protection they have the stylish looks you and your kids want.
Their new 2016 collection features fun, colorful new prints and adorable silhouettes. Think seashells, floral and flamingos for the girls and sailboats, lobsters, retro island motifs and geometric shapes for the boys. For once boy moms will be thrilled because their boy collection is ridiculously cute!
This one Big Sis is wearing is the flamingo design bandeau bikini with matching rash guard. My daughter here is 7 and wears a size 7/8 regularly and this size 8 fits her absolutely perfect. The straps on the bikini top are adjustable and the fabric is a high quality Matt Nylon LYCRA XTRA LIFE for ultra chlorine resistant while still being breathable and quick drying. My daughter is THRILLED with the fact it is a bikini and we do let her wear it without the rash guard when we are night swimming (in the pool of course not in the scary ocean with sharks!).
Lil Sis here is sporting the seashells rash guard and boardshort. She regularly wears size 4 and sometimes a 5 size in clothes and this here is the 4 on her. It is a tad big but that is probably because she is extremely skinny so I would still say it runs true to size. I followed the size chart on their website and was very pleased I did. No labels sewn in is a big bonus as my girls always have me remove them anyway.
My personal favorite feature of Platypus Australia swimwear is that it is UPF 50+ which offers excellent sun protection, the highest possible, blocking out more than 97.5% of the sun’s harmful rays. We spend so much time out in the sun that protection from it is extremely important to me. That said this brand offers that protection and yet still delivers a stylish look. This swimwear is going with us on our cruise next month and to our beach trips.
