Easy Tissue Paper Butterflies

If there’s one thing that’s well known about me, it’s that I simply adore butterflies. I think that butterflies are one of life’s most beautiful creatures and they just amaze me. So much so, that I actually have a bathroom that is decorated in a butterfly theme.

Now that the weather is warming up, my husband and I are preparing to’start hosting lots of fun gatherings for our family and friends and I’ve been coming up with fun party decor ideas. I thought it would be super cute?to do a butterfly theme, as a way to?welcome spring and I knew?tissue paper butterflies would be a perfect fit for this theme! I’m going to show you just how easy they are to make – and they’re very budget?friendly too!

Tissue Paper Butterflies

Supplies You’ll need:

• tissue paper
• clothespins
• craft paint
• foam brush

Step 1. Paint the clothespins a fun color to coordinate with your tissue paper.

Step 2. Cut your tissue paper into?fours. I did this by cutting it in half, then in half again so that I ended up with squares.

Step 3. Keeping with the natural fold marks of the paper, scrunch the tissue paper in the middle with your thumb and forefinger.

Step 4. Place a clothespin where your thumb and forefinger were to secure the shape.

Step 5. Fluff the sides out to give it a nice form and butterfly shape!

Now it’s time to use them for decorations! You can attach them to string or lay them around tables. I’m sure you could think of other ideas too! You might also like these Paper Towel Butterflies?and a different version of a Tissue Paper Butterfly!
