It’s no secret that I have a crazy infatuation with butterflies and because?having a bathroom decorated with the beautiful creatures isn’t enough, I decided that I needed to have a butterfly party to welcome spring!
Butterfly Party Ideas
Lots of color – Since butterflies come in all different shapes, sizes and colors, the entire party scheme should be filled with an array of colors! I chose bright and vibrant Spring colors for this one and to make the color pop even more, I used napkins instead of a tablecloth. Just find napkins in the colors/patterns you want, open them up and lay them around the table – super simple!
Simple Decor – Decorating doesn’t have to?take hours. Instead of streamers and balloons, opt for these easy Tissue Paper Butterflies instead. You can make dozens in just a few minutes and they can be attached to strings hanging from the ceiling, spread across a wall and even set on the table for more color splash!
Themed food – Your guests have to eat and getting creative with a few fun treats to go with them theme is a great idea. I did cupcakes with butterfly sprinkles and used a butterfly cookie cutter to cut butterfly shapes out of krispy treats.
Beverage Wraps – Plain beverages are boring and kids especially will get a kick out of butterfly water bottles! They’re super easy to make using colored card-stock.
- Remove the labels from water bottles.
- Using a paper trimmer, trim a sheet of colored card-stock into 2 inch strips.
- Wrap around bottle, secure with tape.
- Using a butterfly punch, punch butterflies out of a piece of card-stock in a coordinating color or pattern.
- Place a glue dot on one side of butterfly and adhere to the card=stock strip on the bottle.
Since you used glue dots, the butterfly will be 3 dimensional on the bottle, making it more realistic!
Party Activities – Kids can get bored easy so while you’re getting the rest of the party food ready, ask another adult to sit down and help them make butterfly bookmarks! Grab the full DIY Butterfly Bookmarks tutorial.?They’re super easy to make and if you do the first few steps ahead of time, the kids can just?use their own creativity to glue the butterflies onto?their bookmarks.
I hope that you enjoyed these butterfly party ideas and definitely let me know what other creative ideas you come up with for your butterfly party!
