My husband (and myself included) is a bit of a foodie. He loves trying new places to eat and enjoys tasting new foods. Unfortunately, while his palette may be a bit on the more adventurous side, our pantry is not. I tend to just stick with grocery store staples for snacks and quick-to-eat foods which completely bores my husband. Now, with a Mantry subscription, he can receive his own delicious and exciting foods that will ease his pantry boredom.

The first thing I noticed when we received our Mantry was the awesome crate it comes in. I immediately claimed the crate as mine to use for some sort of crafty purpose. My husband dug right in and was really excited to try everything – especially since this month the box was full of products inspired by the sea. He loves clam chowder and couldn’t wait to try the Bar Harbor Foods New England Clam Chowder given that it’s been around for more than 85 years. There was also a can of Island Trollers Wild Pacific Albacore with jalape?os. While he’s not one for a tuna sandwich, this has completely changed his mind on how good it can be.
Now if there’s one thing my husband is a sucker for, it’s caramels. Add sea salt to the mix and he’s a goner. He literally could not wait to tear into the box of Liddabit Sweet Sea Salt Caramels. I had to pull the box away from him to get him to save some for later.
I have never understood my husband’s love of the half popped kernels at the bottom of the popcorn bag. He has always painstakingly poured out the popped popcorn without losing a single half popped kernel so that he could devour them. Needless to say he was in popcorn heaven when he saw the Halfpops in Butter and Sea Salt. I had no idea such a thing existed, and neither did he, but I’m pretty sure he will never buy microwave popcorn again. They were really salty and buttery and he simply couldn’t get enough. I made him save some so we could try them with the Coop’s Micro Creamery Hot Fudge. The hot fudge comes in a really cool drippy lid package and Mantry created their own recipe for a hot fudge banana split topped with the Halfpops. That is something I have to try.
Last but certainly not least is the White Whale Cocktails: The Filthy Liar. We both loved this mixer – a cocktail mix using fresh lychee, rosemary, and clove. It had a distinct, yet refreshingly good flavor. To make we just add equal parts of gin, shake over ice, and serve.
Mantry has something to offer for any food loving man in your life. One does not have to be a foodie to appreciate all of the tasty goods that Mantry puts together every month. I know my husband cannot wait to see what arrives on our doorstep next month.
