Spring is in the air and it’s the season for get-togethers, family barbecues and entertaining. I’ve been not so patiently awaiting its arrival for months and now that it’s here, I’m looking forward to every second of the fun times ahead. Making memories – that’s what life’s all about!
We host a lot of backyard barbecues throughout the spring and summer months, so I like to have an array of drinks on hand, to cater to everyone. This barbecue season, the ladies and I will be enjoying Brancott Estate Flight Song wines and I just can’t wait for the girls to give these wonderful wines a try.
You see, these wines are 20% lighter in calories, but still have that great full flavor. That’s because the grapes that make these wines are picked earlier, when sugar levels are naturally lower. What a smart idea! I know the girls will surely appreciate that, as we’re all more concerned about our figures during this season!
I love researching the history of companies and I was delighted to hear the following. This is one of the many reasons you can’t always listen to everyone else. Reach for the stars instead!
In the 1970’s it was popular belief that Brancott Eastate in the south island of New Zealand was too cold to grow grapes. But going against popular opinion, Brancott Estate was planted with grapes in 1973. The first Sauvignon Blanc grape was planted in 1975.
I couldn’t wait and just had to give one of the bottles a try before our next get-together with the girls, so I tried the Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, which is world renowned for its exceptional full flavor tastes. It has notes of pink grapefruit and passionfruit, with a hint of lemon. I always prefer my wine chilled because I feel that’s when the flavor combinations taste the best. This particular wine would pair great with spicy foods such as my hubby’s famous grilled wings, though I’d opt for a salad and it would taste just as good too!
At just $14.99 per bottle, these new Flight Song wines from Brancott Estate are great for hostess gifts and for serving at your fun summer gatherings!
