We all have them, there is no avoiding them and the only good way to deal with them is to share them with your friends and let them laugh at your expense. I’m talking about cringe-worthy mom moments and if you have kids, you’ve had them. If a mom tells you she has never experienced one, she is lying. You know what I mean, when you take your child to the doctor for an earache and he pulls out a board game piece from the affected ear or when you are leaving a store and your child lays on the floor in protest. Dallas Louis has gathered her cringe-worthy mom moments and sanity saving strategies together and mixed in a dash of humor and splash of “Oh wow, that’s happened to you, too!?!” in her newest book, The Mommy Diaries: How I’m Surviving Parenting Without Killing Anyone.

In the vein of Erma Bombeck, Dallas Louis doesn’t romanticize or sugar coat motherhood. There were so many parts of this book I connected with, so many times I said to myself, “Great, I’m not the only one!”. And boy did I laugh, I laughed so much the Hubby came to check on me (I laugh really loud and when I really get going it sounds something akin to a hysterical goose). The Mommy Diaries is a must read for all moms, especially moms that need reminding they aren’t alone and we all have cringe-worthy mom moments. I think my top one is this one:
