Lonesome George & Co. began with George, the last surviving Pinta Tortoise. His story is a sad one that ends with extinction from the result of human actions and scarce resources. Inspired by his story, Lonesome George & Co. was created to educate other generations to prevent this from happening during a time of increasing extinction rates. 10% of of every purchase made goes to educating our youth and empowering them to make better decisions. In this way George’s spirit lives on.
Our world is in a rapid state of change. Over the last 50 years, human activities have altered ecosystems more extensively than at any comparable period of time in history. Responding to challenges and opportunities requires new thinking, fresh alliances, and a newly empowered generation that sees itself within the system rather than outside it. This requires a mind shift to acknowledge that we live in a dynamic system and our everyday choices have an impact on our surroundings. Lonesome George & Co. empower’s a movement of ?change agents? that make choices that protect and preserve our precious resources.
When I was a little girl I had seen a picture of the great tortoises on the far away Galapagos Islands and had fallen in love. I read all I could about them and waited for the day that I might go and visit them. A few decades later and I still receive pamphlets for the Galapagos Tours, some part of me still waiting to go. I wonder what he had thought when he’d seen George there, in the photo, if some part of him felt the evolutionary pull of the last great Pinta Tortoise. Lonesome George & Co. is working towards something extraordinary, there are so many children (like I was once) that have such a deep love for these fascinating animals; and others that are slowly losing their numbers. They educate them as Agents of Change, through their clothing and accessories so other’s might stop and ask, “Who is Lonesome George?” And we can tell them how they can help too.
Impact apparel that makes a statement ? and create action. Our goal is to empower a new generation of leaders and contribute to a new social business model that reconciles company, community and government?creating a virtuous cycle of prosperity for all.
So how can you help? Well… I’ll leave that up to Judah, an Agent of Change, to fill you in.
First, you need to go over to Lonesome George & Co. and find a really awesome shirt like mine because after you get a supercool shirt, 10% of the purchase is going to education to help kids like me learn about our friend Lonesome George!
The second thing you need to do is walk around a lot like this, so people can see your awesome shirt. It has Lonesome George & Co. right on the sleeve, plus mine has Lonesome George right on the front. People think I’m cute and they like my outfit! So when they ask Mommy she can tell them where she got it. Then maybe we’ll get a new Agent of Change!
This last step is important, so you have to pay attention. The last thing you have to do is see how you can help others like Lonesome George so little guys like me can have these supercool animals around when we get bigger. Right now we don’t know what we’re supposed to do (other than look really cute in this shirt) but if you help us out then we’ll be able to keep them safe.

Your can purchase the Abingdon – Lonesome George shirt for $25.00. 10% of this purchase will go to educating our youth about endangered species.
I received samples for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions are my own or my families and are not influenced by any form of compensation. Also that was not Judah actually speaking, that was me, but it was incredibly cute. He does however say, “Lonesome George” if you ask him who is on his shirt and he really loves the Galapagos Tortoises just like his Mommy.
