National Geographic has long been a name associated with high quality. I remember sifting through the stacks of National Geographic magazines at my grandparent’s home when I was young. In 1975, National Geographic launched the National Geographic Kids Magazine. The magazine features educational and fun articles on topics ranging from science to video games.
This year National Geographic Kids has released a fun filled Halloween Activity and idea book. The National Geographic Kids Halloween Book of Fun! features spooky food recipes, homemade costume ideas, trivia, jokes, and more (including funny fill in stories, mazes and more do be done right in the book).
The moment my kids got their hands on this book they began plotting ways to use the ideas they saw within it. They pointed out the costume ideas they thought were fun (and amazingly do-able with items you probably have around the house or could easily acquire for very little investment at a craft or super store). They decided which Pumpkin Stencils they wanted to use to carve our family pumpkins. This book is definitely a winner in my book! While a handful of the activities are one-time use (the funny fill-in stories, etc) most of the ideas and stories can be used year after year.
You can purchase the National Geographic Kids Halloween Book of Fun! online and at local retailers. For updates on what is new from National Geographic Kids, you can connect with them via facebook and twitter.
