Nothing goes quite according to plan when Paddington Bear goes to the beach. Especially when, one by one, he is joined by hungry (and sneaky!) seagulls. Will Paddington’s lunchtime snack be safe
I absolutely love Paddington Bear and the silly antics he gets in. This bear from Peru lives a life before the technology of today and there is something comforting when reading books about him. Almost like reading about an old friend. I have reviewed a few of Paddington books before and like those Paddington at the Beach is a true delight. This is a large repackaged picture book edition which is perfect for younger readers. The original book series is now over 50 years old and it definitely ages well. Ten seagulls see Paddington at the beach and they are eying the bun in his pocket! Paddington does not seem to see what is coming.

In this book the entire class is planning a surprise party but it can be hard to make sure everyone keeps the secret. Splat the Cat: I Scream for Ice Cream is as adorable as the cover sounds. Splat’s class is on a field trip to an ice cream factory. The only problem is Splat accidentally fills the factory with ice cream! It is up to the class to clean up and that means eating a ton of ice cream along the way. This is a great series for little boys and girls and a great addition to any I Can Read! series.
When Dad decides to create
to-do lists for the family, Splat is sure he’ll never have fun again.
But then he learns how using his imagination can make anything fun!
Join Splat as he learns that a little help can go a long way in this hilarious storybook adventure.
Splat the Cat: The Big Helper is all about how Splat comes up with fun ways to get his new daily chores done. Parents love
to see their kids making good choices and sometimes little things like
reading a book like this one can help children to understand why helping
out around the house is a helpful thing.
Half the fun of children’s books are the awesome illustrations. Little ones really enjoy a story when they can follow along in pictures. All four of these picture perfect readers are great for a rainy day.
