101 Stories about Life, Love, and LessonsDogs have always been considered companions and playmates that brighten and enrich our lives but they are also wonderful and amazing teachers. The lessons we learn from our canine friends come in all shapes and sizes, just like they do. In this book, dog lovers share what they have learned from our greatest heroes and healers. Chicken Soup for the Soul: What I Learned from the Dog will delight readers with humorous, heartwarming, and inspiring stories about lessons our canine friends and family members have taught us.
What I really like about this book is that there are many chapters, each with a different story. You don’t have to actually read everything in order like most books. There are different clips of stories and advice from different people. Of course all of these stories have to do with our furry little friends.
We have two dogs of our own, so I really took this book in and learned a lot of things. There were quite a few stories I read aloud to the rest of the family. Chapter 6: Learning to Say Goodbye really got to me because one of our dogs just turned 9. She’s perfectly healthy and happy now, but she may not have much longer. She’s getting old. It was comforting to read through other stories about saying goodbye.
