We read the book together a few nights ago when her tooth became really wiggly. This way she understood that this was a fairy in training and she was there to make sure that Big Sis was taking good care of her teeth.
After spending a solid hour wiggling that tooth (and grossing me out in the process) it was finally out! She was so excited and the sparkle in her eye was huge! We put the tooth in the tooth pouch on the crown. In the morning Big Sis checked and she had money as her special prize!
This book includes brightly colored illustrations with a whimsical story that my 6 year old truly enjoyed. Her eyes were huge as we read the story together. She was all ready and it made it extra special when it was actually time. As a mom I really liked that the book included how important it is to take care of your teeth and that the fairy is always watching those brushing habits. My daughter is pretty good at brushing her teeth but any little extra push is helpful.
There is even a chart to keep track of all those lost teeth! I was not so great at up keeping her baby book but under the direct supervision of Big Sis I will make sure to keep this one up to date.
Between the ages of 5 to 12 the average child loses twenty baby teeth. That is a lot of visits from the tooth fairy and this book set helps to celebrate such big milestones in a super exciting way.
A portion of the proceeds of the book goes to charities that promote dental health and children’s literacy. This book set is available in select children’s bookstores and on Amazon. My daughter is beyond excited for her first lost tooth and the now ever present gap in her smile. I just love books and this one really helps treasure this special time in her life.
