Welcome to this week’s edition of Tasty Tuesday. It’s Cinco de Mayo, and I thought that now would be a good time to share my favorite homemade 2 ingredient guacamole recipe with all of you. This recipe is my favorite because it tastes great, and it literally takes just a couple of minutes to whip up a batch. Serve it with restaurant style tortilla chips, a delicious margarita or this blackberry mojito, and it may bring fond memories of dining at your favorite Mexican restaurant.
Because this delicious guac recipe calls for just two ingredients, it is a simple recipe for anyone to make. You don’t need any special skills in the kitchen to make this 2 ingredient guacamole recipe, and it most definitely compares to the guac at my favorite restaurant.
What is the primary ingredient of guacamole?
Avocados are the primary ingredient in guacamole. Other staple ingredients can include tomatoes, onion, garlic, salt, lime juice, and even other herbs and seasonings. However, this recipe calls for just two of these ingredients that I’ve listed!
How do restaurants keep guacamole from turning brown?
When you make homemade guacamole, you may notice that it turns brown. I always make mine fresh, so I don’t have this problem. But, if you want to make your guac ahead of time, just follow these tips to keep it from turning brown.
Put the guacamole in an airtight container, and flatten the surface with a spoon, making sure to remove any air pockets. Pour a very this layer of lemon or lime juice over the top, then cover and refrigerate.
