I was so excited for my daughter to make the middle school volleyball team this year! She is a die hard soccer player so when she decided to tryout for volleyball I was ecstatic! I played volleyball in middle, high school and even some in college. It had been a joy helping her with her volleyball skills and seeing her play. Unfortunately, this may be her only season playing volleyball because she hasn’t had much playing time on the court. She is accustomed to starting and staying in every game unless she subs out to catch her breath. I will still encourage her to tryout next year for high school. This DIY Volleyball Door Hanger is so easy and makes a great birthday gift! This one was made for one of my daughter’s new friends from her volleyball team.
Supplies:
- Jig Saw
- 3/4 inch plywood
- Something to use as a circle for the template
- Sandpaper
- White, black & gray acrylic paint
- 1 1/2″ to 2″ wire ribbon
- Wire to hang
- Drill and bit to fit your wire
Step 1: Paint your volleyball white.
Step 2: Once it dries sketch your volleyball lines one the plywood.
Step 3: trace over your pencil lines using gray paint. I used a wet technique by using lots of water when I painted my lines then went over the lines with a wet brush to blend with
Step 4: I painted the monogram last. Then I added the ribbon and wrapping it with wires so that this could become a reversible door hanger for basketball, softball, tennis or golf!
If your children love sports the same as mine do, you will be wanting to take advantage of a reversible sign to honor all the sports they play.? This is a great way to show your child that their sport of choice is important.
Would you display this door hanger on your front door?? Which sport would you choose?
