I love making gifts and crafts for the holiday season. This year I decided I would participate in a Holiday Bazaar that a friend has hosted for the past six years. Since I don?t have a budget I have had to get creative with what I have around the house to create with. I have hordes of math manipulative blocks that I have been saving for the right project. So I came up with the idea of a Melted Snowmen Earrings! I thought “Melted” would be a cute way to describe square Snowmen! So cute and so much fun to make!
Materials:
~White and orange acrylic paint
~Black gel pen or black paint pen
~Needle nose pliers or round tip pliers
~Fixative of choice
~Flannel fabric scrapes
~Eye pins 2″
~Fish Hook Earrings
Step 1: Paint your 1/2″ x 1/2″?blocks white.? You can use paint pens to make it less messy or just regular acrylic paint.
Step 2: Paint your face and buttons any way you choose.? It can be a serious,’silly? or traditional face.
Step 3: Place your snowman on the eye pin and loop the top with your needle nose or round tip pliers.? As you can tell I left plenty of wiggle room so that you can place your squares in the direction you wish.
Step 4: Attach your Fish Hook Earrings to your looped eye pin.
Step 5: Last add your scarf then you can adjust which direction you would like your snowman to face. Your scarf should be roughly 2? x 1/8?.? I tied the scarf tight enough so that the square blocks would not move once the scarf was around the snowmen’s necks.? Then I turned it to the side so that you could see the snowmen’s faces.
This is ?a great project to do with your children when they are having to miss school for a snow day! My girls loved making my DIY Melted Snowmen Earrings!
