Now that the kids are older, my family is doing a lot more traveling. We’re getting out there, exploring the world and making memories that will last a lifetime. Our travels, whether it be a road trip or a vacation far away, have provided us with amazing bonding opportunities, and of course, a lot of fun! We want to take a trip out West this spring and Sioux Falls, South Dakota sounds like a perfect place to stop for a day or two. Falls Park
A must have on your list of places to stop and see is Falls Park, which boasts 123 acres of beauty including 100 feet of breathtaking waterfalls that dump 7,400 gallons of water per second! it is Sioux Falls #1 attraction and if you watch the video below, you’ll see why!

Explore an area winery
The Wilde Prairie Winery and the Strawbale Winery both claim home to?Sioux Falls, South Dakota?and would be a perfect addition to your travel itinerary. They are open year round and offer special events so check the website before your trip to see what’s happening!
Butterfly House and Aquarium
I am a total lover of butterflies, so the Butterfly House and Aquarium is at the top of my list of places to see when we visit?Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It even has a shark & stingray touch pool, which sounds like an awesome experience!

U.S.S. South Dakota Battleship Memorial
The most decorated battleship of World War II, U.S.S. South Dakota fought in every major naval battle in the Pacific from 1942-1945. The U.S.S. South Dakota Battleship Memorial pays homage to it and is open May 1st through September 30th, 9:30am to 5:30pm.

Pettigrew Home & Museum
The?Pettigrew Home & Museum was home to South Dakota’s first full-term U.S. senator, Richard F. Pettigrew. This 1889 Queen Anne home was donated to the city upon his death in 1926 and features artifacts from his travels across the world. Admission is free and the Pettigrew Home & Museum is open daily.
Dubbed ?Heart of America?, this is only a very small handful of what Sioux Falls has to offer. This beautiful city offers something for everyone, whether you are a foodie, urban explorer/art/music lover, family, or active traveler/outdoor person.
