Here is what you need to make unicorn bath salts:
- 1 1/3 cup coarse sea salt
- 2/3 cup fine sea salt
- 1 cup Epsom Salt
- 1/3 cup baking soda
- 10 drops essential oil (I used Lilac)
- food coloring
- mixing bowls
- canning funnel
- air tight containers such as mason jars
- teaspoon
- ribbon or bakers twine (3 or more colors)
You can purchase the supplies below.
Step 2. Add the essential oil.
Step 3. Divide the salt mixture evenly into 5 bowls.
Step 4. Add 3 drops of red food coloring to the first bowl to make pink salts. Stir ?very well until the color is consistent. Repeat this step in the remaining four bowls adding 2 drops yellow in second bowl to make yellow, 3 drops green in third bowl, 4 drops blue in fourth bowl and 3 blue, 2 red to make purple for the fifth bowl.
Step 5. Start layering! Place a canning funnel in your mason far and using a large teaspoon, start layering the 5 colors. I tipped the jar a bit here and there to get a fun look, but you could do even layers too. Repeat for all 5 colors. You could also use larger jars and do more layers and you could even experiment with more colors!
Step 6. Seal tightly to prevent moisture from slipping in and decorate with ribbon/twine.
