Last week was a busy one for me. I had quite the adventure taking the train between Milwaukee and Chicago on both Wednesday and Friday to check out some exciting events at the Chicago Auto Show, in partnership with SheBuysCars. It was not only my first time taking the train, but also my first time at the Chicago Auto Show so I was able to cross?a couple of things off my bucket list too!
Wednesday started with the What Drives Her luncheon with Women in Automotive and SheBuysCars. It was such an informative and empowering event where we learned all about the roles that women have played in the automotive industry and you can learn all about it in this Facebook Live video.
Friday started off early and I was out the door by 5:30am to catch my train for a busy day of walking, learning and checking out some pretty sweet cars that are hitting the market. Hyundai?announced some big news with its Elantra models, with new cars and features in this class. They’ve created the?Elantra GT and the Elantra GT Sport, where sporty and practical meet head on. It’s the most powerful and fun to drive Elantra and features some sweet features like a sportier look to the interior?with this sweet red trim.
We also learned all about Hyundai Blue-Drive cars with their plug in and hybrid models. This is exciting news for the brand as they’re paving the way for drivers to be more eco-friendly.
Genesis is Hyundai’s luxury brand and I was really excited to learn all about it from the team since I hadn’t really heard a whole lot before then. They’ve got the Genesis G80 and Genesis G90 and after I shared all about my love for the G90 on social media, my aunt let me know that my uncle just bought one and is completely smitten with it.
I can totally understand why because those babies are stunning! After taking a peek inside, the soft leather interior caught my attention and once I saw that backseat that would comfortably fit my 6 foot tall teenage boys, I was sold.
Even better, the back seats actually recline so backseat passengers can be just as comfortable as those in the front seats. They even have full control over their own climate back there and can hi-jack the tunes too. What a perfect car for those of us with older kids!
