I absolutely LOVE giving my kids challenging brain games! I enjoy seeing them concentrate and really work hard to problem-solve. The best part is watching them complete the task and letting them see for themselves how their hard work paid off. SmartGames is an award-winning game company with thought-provoking puzzles for everyone ages 3 to 103. Kids really have to use their noggins to find the solution. These brain teasers are hard work but extremely fun at the same time.
Little Red Riding Hood is for ages 4+ and features 48 challenges (24 with the wolf and 24 without). They start out easy and get harder each time.
This new preschool puzzle game based on a popular fairy tale has kids help Little Red find the right path to Grandma’s house but of course the wolf is going to the house too! This game comes packaged with a picture book with the original story as well.
Using the included booklet (also includes answers) you set up the game board. Then your child lays all the path pieces on the board so that they build a path for Little Red Riding Hood to reach Grandma’s house. Then they can play the game with the Wolf.? You then try to solve these challenges by making two paths to Grandma’s House: one for Little Red Riding Hood, and one for the Wolf. It is harder than it looks! Being able to manipulate the pieces with their hands as they try to solve the puzzle is what makes it fun. They want to find the answer and they are willing to keep trying until they figure it out!
The North Pole Expedition is for ages 6+ so it is a step up in skill level from the Little Red Riding Hood puzzle.
There are 80 new challenges in this expedition with 2 playing modes ? an Eskimo kayaking in the water and an Eskimo spear fishing on the ice. Play the same challenge twice and discover the completely different solution.
You have to arrange the pictures so that polar bears are on ice and the fish and whales in the water. Then you either have to have the kayaking Eskimo in the water or the spear fishing Eskimo on the ice. I actually find this game quite hard!
My husband especially loves this game. He loves puzzles and logic games and even the harder cards had him stumped!
Magnetic Travel: Deducktion is for ages 5+ and is a new magnetic game that offers kids 48 challenges using deduction to find the position of each mallard.
The challenge is simple but the solution is not: place the three duck families so all duckling follow their mothers in number order. In case even the adults can’t figure it out the solutions are in the back of the booklet.
This is a small and easy to carry one so it would be great for travel. Gotta bring the fun wherever you go!
Novice players to puzzle pros will enjoy using cognitive skills including logic, creativity, memory and naturally, patience, to complete each one of these fun games.
