Potty training is a huge milestone and deserves to be celebrated. No more diapers, independent freedom and “big kid” status are just a few of the perks for kids when they’re potty trained. Some of my friends’ kids are in the?potty training stage, so I partnered with Pampers Easy Ups to host a fun party, just for them! Today I’m sharing a few of our potty training party tips and special things that we did to create a fun experience for the kids.
Potty Training Party Tips
- Decor?- We used blue and yellow decor for our party?including a table cover, balloons, ?napkins, cups and paper flowers.
- Goodie bags – Everyone likes surprises so goodie bags are always a great idea. We filled ours with?Pampers Easy Ups, a Potty Training Reward Chart, $5 off Pampers coupon, ?a Pampers fact sheet and some bubbles for the kiddos.
- Finger food – We did a full meal for our guests but before it was time to eat, we set out finger food for the kids like mini cookies and small watermelon slices that fit perfectly into their little hands.
- Games – Kids love games and I thought it would be fun to “toss those diapers” so I bought 2 bowls, a package of diapers, a foam board and created a Diaper Toss game.
The kids had such fun tossing the diapers! Each kid got a turn to toss 6 diapers and see how many they could get in the bowls.
It was harder than you’d think and most of the kids averaged about 1-2 diapers making it in.
They sure had fun playing though and even went on for a few rounds. 20 minutes after the game ended, a few of the kids asked if they could play again!
I’ve found that when you’re having a party with toddlers, you can’t keep the schedule too strict, so we played a little, chatted about potty training tips, ate some food, played some more, then made S’mores right before the party ended.
Overall, our party turned out great!?The kids had a blast, we ate delicious food, learned some great info about?potty training and spent some great quality time with our friends.
