I adored stickers growing up and would keep them all in a special sticker book where you could peel them off and re-position them. Kids today love stickers too and in this book Ella and Penguin have some fun glow-in-the-dark stickers and they really want to see them glow but that would mean….going into the closet and turning off all the lights.
Ella has a surprise for Penguin?glow-in-the-dark stickers!
But to see the stickers glow, Ella and Penguin must be in the dark. And the dark is so . . . dark!
If only they could see the stickers glow in the light?but that won’t work.
Soon Ella and Penguin find out that if they stick together, they can face anything.
After all, sometimes all you need is a good friend to help you be brave.’
Megan Maynor used to have a huge sticker collection. Huge! Her favorites were scratch ‘n’ sniff pizza and scratch ‘n’ sniff pickle?until she discovered glow-in-the-dark stars. She lives in her beloved home state of Minnesota with her husband and three children, where she is a solid blue-square skier, warm-weather-only camper, and, of course, big-time reader. This is her first picture book.
Rosalinde Bonnet loved to draw when she was little. She would often get into trouble in school because she doodled all over her notebooks during class. After high school she studied at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieure des Arts D?coratifs in Paris. Since her graduation in 2004, she has written and/or illustrated numerous children’s books, mainly published in France and England. She lives in Versailles, France.
I very vividly remember playing with stickers as a young girl and my 2 daughters are constantly playing with stickers themselves. A whole picture book about the fun of glow-in-the-dark stickers yet a fear of the dark is picture book perfection. This cute book is a great read for young kids!
