I for one often feel like I have a house overrun with toys. I try to limit getting my daughters only top quality toys that they really really want but especially around the holidays we end up with toys they play with for a short time then never play with again. Pley is a monthly service where you rent toys and then return them when you are done. My knee jerk reaction to such a service was….no way…why would I pay for something that I don’t even get to keep? I very quickly changed my tune and I now think Pley is amazing!
You can browse through their more than 400+ toys on the website and you choose from simple to ultra-complex LEGO sets, hot robotic toys like BB-8 or Dash, or Knex sets. You get to pick which ones you want to rent by creating a Pleylist. This way my kids can put together and play with sets that actually interest them.
Starting at just $19.99/month when registered for a 6-month subscription or $24.99 for a one month trial, kids could receive several kits each month as they play, return and repeat. The Builder and Master plan offers unlimited toys per month. Children keep the toy as long as they wish, then place everything in the return package with postage already paid for. Drop it in any US postal mailbox. Shipping is free with all memberships!
My 7 year old is really into Star Wars right now so of course she wanted to put together a set from the new movie so she selected Rey’s speeder. It came through USPS in just a few days. I was SUPER skeptical that all the pieces would be there but every single piece was there and a few tiny extras you can see in my picture above. The red pieces are extra necessary as this vehicle shoots the red circles hard and fast across the room as the best little shooter I have ever seen on a LEGO set.
When you are done everything goes back inside the mesh bag and then is put inside the blue bag that already has a shipping label attached on the other side. Depending on the plan you choose they will ship a new one as soon as they receive the old one. Furthermore, the company has proprietary machines that sort and scan all incoming returned sets for broken or missing pieces, which it replaces if needed before the set is sent to the next family. You can also report missing pieces online. Once again I had no missing pieces in the set I received. They clean and sanitize each LEGO piece with commercial grade high temperature washers using eco-friendly and kid-friendly solutions to clean inside the bricks and its studs.
My girls love putting LEGOs together but we certainly don’t have the money to buy all the ones they want or the storage space to keep them. With Pley they get to play with as many sets as they want. Pley will also buy your old LEGOs from you and if your child just loves the set they receive you can buy it. This would make the ultimate holiday gift this holiday season as it is a gift that gives month after month and parents won’t have to worry about toys that take up space or loose appeal after a short time. Pley on!
