Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is introducing an all new happier Halloween experience known as ZooBoo KIDS, presented by floridacentral Credit Union on select days in October. This event is all fun and no fear so it is perfect for even the youngest of kids.

This year’s ?fright-free? festivities start at 1 p.m. with extended Zoo hours until 7 p.m. on event days.

* Designates a fee-based activity
Unlike prior years, ZooBoo KIDS is now a daytime event. Activities are included with Zoo daytime admission and free for Zoo members. Dates are October 10-11, 17-18, 23-26, 30-31 and Nov. 1. ZooBoo KIDS is a no-scare zone. Toy weapons of any sort will not be permitted and for the comfort and safety of all guests, adults (ages 12 and older) are prohibited from wearing masks, wigs, face paint or costumes of any kind. Adults must accompany children during the event.
The great part about it is you can also spend the whole day having fun at the zoo during their everyday activities like checking out the animals, rides, splash pad and exhibits. There are soooo many animals to see and so much to learn. Big Sis is especially interested in animals so we had to read off every bit of information placed in front of an exhibit. I certainly learned a few things too.
Since it is so hot in Florida we wore Halloween shirts and shorts till the trick-or-treat stations opened up and then they got all dressed up for the candy. My girls outfits were a big hit because everyone kept commenting on them. Afterwards they got down to bath suits for the splash pad and the log flume ride where you will get very-very wet. It was a great way for them to cool down in the heat!
My girls had a blast at ZooBoo Kids. We spent the entire day there from open till almost close. There is just so much to do there and at the ZooBoo Kids events. This is a great event to take young kids where they can just enjoy the Halloween season in a completely un-scary way.
