My oldest daughter who is about to turn 7 has always had a special interest in science. I try and foster that as much as possible because I know how important it is to encourage kids towards S.T.E.M. as a part of their learning. The Young Scientists Club was built on the mission to engage boys and girls around the world in an educational science adventure that lasts a lifetime. They offer up science kits that help entertain as well as educate children. My daughter has played with several of their kits and takes great pride with each experiment she does. The Magic School Bus Science Explosion game is new for 2015 and has officially joined our family’s game night rotation.

Science Explosion includes two exciting games in one…just flip the game board over! Match science-based topic cards to master cards in one game and use memory and strategy skills in another game. The winner gets to explode the volcano!
The game includes:
- Laminated two-sided board
- Volcano
- Bowl
- 4 colored measuring cups
- Clear measuring cup
- 16 science master cards
- 80 science topic cards
Here are some of the cards so you can see what they say. Even though my daughter is still at the beginning stages of reading she is still able to fully play the game.
Plenty of fun science facts that I didn’t remember from my own schooling growing up. I sure hope that by learning it all over again with my kids the facts stick in my head this time!
Of course the most fun part is dumping your cup into the volcano to activate it. Homemade volcanoes never get old! You will need to provide your own baking soda and vinegar. I also appreciate the directions to the game printed on the under side of the box lid. This way I can never loose them!
This game is educational but still a lot of fun. Combing the two makes for a toy that kids enjoy and one they want to do over and over again. It isn’t always easy for me to teach things in the science field but these Young Scientists Club products make it fun for both parents and kids!
