LifeSaver App Helps Prevent Teens from Texting While Driving

Big Bro is going t turn 16 in less than a month. He hasn’t gone through a driving course yet because he lost that privilege, but he’ll be taking one this winter. Before I know it, the kid will be driving and we’ll have to clear the roadways! I’m sure he won’t be that bad a driver, but us moms always worry!

I worry especially because of how different things are than they were when I learned how to drive. No one had cell phones back then and people certainly wren’t being distracted from their driving because they’re too busy texting. Unfortunately, those are things that I have to think of now, with him getting ready to hit the road.

But thankfully there’s an app for that. The LifeSaver app is helping save lives by not allowing drivers to text while driving. LifeSaver is a free app that detects driving and locks down your phone when you’re behind the wheel. Once my “baby” starts driving, I will most definitely be installing the LifeSaver app on his phone. Not only will it give me peace of mind, but it will help to keep him and other drivers safe as well. It’s really easy to set up and one you [the parent] sign up for the LifeSaver Driver Portal, you’ll fill out some information and invite your driver, who will need to download LifeSaver app. You can enable ‘Arrival Notifications’ which allows you to receive a text or email when your driver reaches their destination. You can also set up rewards and see safe driving scores.

Texting and driving is extremely dangerous. In fact, it’s really just a stupid thing to do – plain and simple. One second can change your whole life and it’s just not worth the risk. I’m really glad that there’s an app like LifeSaver to help and I think all teenage drivers [and even some adults] should download it!
