My girls would probably tell you that family game night is one of their favorite family activities (I happen to agree with them). With school starting we will probably need to re-organize which night gets the honors but it is a time where we put away all electronics and just have good old fashion fun as a family. Winning Moves Games has a nice selection of board and card games for the whole family. Some new, some retro and all fun.
One of my all time favorite childhood games was Trouble. My brother and I must have played that game 100s of times. So simple yet so fun! Now my girls get to enjoy the awesomeness of the pop-o-matic bubble!
You move your 4 pegs all the way around the game into your home base. Of course you are in trouble if another person lands on the spot your peg occupies. I was always fascinated that the dice was in a bubble. As a mom I appreciate that the dice can never get lost. This game never gets old!
Moose Caboose is a simple yet fun game too. Four different trains are chugging along and each player gets four cards. You match the colors to build the train longer.
You collect cards by putting the “moose caboose” card on the end of a train. The winner is declared by whoever has the most cards at the end. My 6 year old is surprisingly good at this game.
Water Works is the classic 70’s card game and original leaky pipe card game. I have very vivid memories of playing this game with my godmother at her place when I was younger. The goal is to be the first player to complete a pipeline from valve to spout. I personally think this game has a high learning curve. That just means we kept referring back to the directions multiple times the first few times we played. Now that we really understand how to play we love it! My almost 7 year old can now play on her own with no help from me.
These games are great to add to your personal selection of games. We like a bit of healthy competition in the house and I think my girls will always remember having a great time playing those games with us every week. Winning Moves Games are a hit!
