My son is a big builder. Any chance he gets, I find him trying to construct something regardless of the medium – blocks to make a truck or even modeling clay to make a house. Construction style bricks are his favorite though and he could easily spend hours building whatever comes to mind. He was so excited when he saw Laser Pegs because not only could he build something, but his designs would light up and move.
Each Laser Pegs set comes with a power base that requires 3 AAA batteries. The Laser Pegs shapes click into the base and is powered. Since the pieces are open-ended and modular, they can be used with each other. The lights from the power base and Laser Pegs will shine through the construction bricks to make your entire design light up.
Since my son really loves cars, we decided to get the 12-in-1 Formula Racer set. It comes with one power block, 4 Laser Pegs, and almost 100 different colored construction block pieces.
The set includes easy to follow directions for the Formula race car. You can download the online manual to get instructions for the other 11 race cars.
My son had a great time assembling and was really excited that it turned out to be a decent sized car that he could drive all over the house.
The car was so cool once we had completed it and put it together. Once it was all assembled, we had to turn the lights out, turn the car on, and watch it glow.
This is such a unique and cool toy. Seeing how it lights up and how the power base and Laser Peg pieces work together makes this a great STEM learning toy. The best part is, the pieces also match up with other construction blocks, so you can mix and match. Laser Pegs has won many toy awards and it’s clear to see why. I can’t wait to create more cars with my son using Laser Pegs.
