A couple of the girls and I got together for a little screening party this afternoon and mixed up some tasty cocktails. Hey, it was 5 o’clock somewhere! We kept it light and just had a couple of tasty Mom-Osas while we sat in front of the screen?with our chocolates – our?bob-bon alternative.
Odd Mom Out sounded like my kind of show because I’ve always sort of felt like the “odd mom out” myself since most of my kids’ friends’ parents are older than me – much older! I just so happen to fall into the middle class category too, which I’m fine with, but we do live in a nicer community where most people have much more money than us. So I could totally relate to Jill’s (the main character) woes in many, many ways!
It starts off with an embarrassing scene where one of her kid talks about how mom likes underwear dance parties, tattoos and naughty words. But just as I would, Jill brushed it off with a good laugh at herself. Her husband makes partner at work and while they’re trying to celebrate her husband’s achievement, his mom calls in with news of his brother scoring millions; so of course all the attention goes to him and Jill’s hubby Andy just gets brushed off. You can see the snobbishness ?of her in-laws right off the bat, but that’s part of what makes Odd Mom Out pretty funny!
Jill’s world is rather competitive, focusing on the upper East-side lifestyle full of private school applications and crazy work out routines – which Jill ultimately despises. But what I love most about Odd Mom Out is that Jill is just a normal woman who owns it with her quirky humor, in every situation she finds herself in.
I got hooked on Odd Mom Out in just the first two episodes and am looking forward to how the stories unfold. It’s definitely a must see show for anyone who enjoys a bit of sarcastic comedy! Mix up the Mom-Ito cocktail recipe below to get to your own happy place before you watch next Monday!

Being true to yourself is what matters. I have that attitude too, I don’t care what people think. As long as I am doing the right thing for my family, I am all good.
