Minions have arrived at Build-A-Bear Workshop! These exclusive, build-your-own plushes are based on Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s movie: Minions which hits theaters July 10, 2015.
In the off chance you have no idea what I am talking about Build-A-Bear is an interactive entertainment retailer of customized stuffed animals. You go to their store and you get to pick a “skin” and then help get it stuffed right there in the store and all with magical touches along the way. Guests can choose their own costumes, sounds, and of course, participate in their signature heart ceremony to make each plush their very own.
This new collection features the Minions Kevin, Stuart and Bob and includes a variety of costume options, including the Minions? signature denim overalls and rubber boots, along with three era costumes as featured in the film. You can even put in your minion pre-recorded sounds based on each character’s own popular sayings or add your own personal message on a Build-A-Sound? recordable chip.
After picking whether or not you want a sound chip as well as which sound chip you then get to give your plush a signature heart. You place a tiny plush heart on the screen and use your finger to drag traits to the heart that you want added to your minion. Then make sure to give the heart lots of kisses and squishes too!
Getting right down to the fluffiest part of building your own plush is the ever important stuffing process. Sound card and signature hearts have been put into place and then your child gets to step on the foot petal while one of the bear assistants fills your plush with fluffy goodness. Your child gets to let them know how full they want it to be. I like a nice and full plush for extra squishing. If over time your Build-A-Bear plush becomes a little flat or deflated you can bring them back to the store at any time to get some extra stuffing put in. Basically like a trip to a bear hospital for some extra care. The Minions then need baths before they head off to the dressing room. The bath screen is fun and has bath sounds and “water” even drains on the screen. The hardest part might be deciding exactly how you want your Minion to be dressed. We chose their traditional outfits but they have a few outfits from the movie to choose from. After the final dressing you get to fill out birth certificates with your own contact information and you can name them whatever you choose. We stuck to their traditional Minion names as well.
Here is some information on the new Minion movie coming out. For me this is a must see in theaters and our minions will be joining us for the big event.
The story of Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Minions begins at the dawn of time.?Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters.?Continuously unsuccessful at keeping these masters ? from T. rex to Napoleon ? the Minions find themselves without someone to serve and fall into a deep depression.
But one Minion named Kevin has a plan, and he ? alongside teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob ? ventures out into the world to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow.
The trio embarks upon a thrilling journey that ultimately leads them to their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill (Academy Award? winner Sandra Bullock), the world’s first-ever female super-villain.?They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960s New York City, ending in mod London, where they must face their biggest challenge to date: saving all of Minionkind…from annihilation.
The Build-A-Bear Minions collection is available online and in stores. I highly suggest making them on your own in stores because the process of actually building them makes them extra special for kids and is a really fun experience.
