Materials:
- Old candles/Candle wax
- Wicks
- Glitter
- Modge Podge
- Glue
- Wooden dowel/pencil/toothpick
- Scent of choice
Step 1:
First, I melted my old candles. If you have never made candles before this is very simple and quick. Just turn your burners on a medium heat and the wax will melt in no time.
I applied Modge Podge where I wanted my glitter using a paint brush. Then I sprinkled my glitter on. I had a pan to catch my leftover glitter and rolled the jar in the leftovers. Once it dries you may apply a second coat of Modge Podge and glitter. In the picture below you can see where the glitter is still drying.
Step 4:
Pour in your melted wax and then use your wooden dowel, pencil or toothpick to wrap your wick around. Then place your wick in your candle. The last think you will do is add a couple of drops of your favorite scent. I used Mango for mine!
Once your glitter is dry you can even out your glitter line by scrapping it off with your finger nails. If you chose to wait until the wax is dry for embellishing you would do so then and use glue.
