This is one of their popular cooperative games. That means everyone playing works together to beat the common obstacle. You either win as a team or loose as a team.
How to Play:
The object of the game is to get the three correct ingredients into the Cauldron before all six of the paths are blocked. The evil Wizard has cast a spell to destroy the kingdom! You have the power to create a potion to break the spell, but you must work together. Your quest is to find the three correct ingredients hidden under the potion bottles and move them up the paths and into the Cauldron before the Wizard blocks all of the paths. If you do not get all three potion bottles with correct ingredients to the Cauldron before the paths are blocked, the Wizard triumphs and the kingdom is destroyed.

We always read all the way through instructions before playing a game for the first time. Feel free to consult the instructions throughout the game since there are several dice to work with you and you want to make sure you are moving around the board correctly. Different pieces are going in different directions so this is not your ordinary board game….magic is involved!
recently asked for some more challenging board games and with this one
being 6+ it was perfect. We would consult the family when rolling the
magic dice on what we should try and roll. Just because it is a
cooperative board game that does not automatically mean it is easy. Dad
had several bad dice rolls and we lost our first 2 times playing! The
wizard won! That only made us more determined and by the 3rd game we
won!
We have a regularly scheduled family board game night but occasionally when all the homework and daily chores are done we get a bonus game night like we did playing this game. We put our 3 year old to bed and my 6 year old got to play several rounds. Each game took anywhere from 15-20 minutes. Peaceable Kingdom is always coming out with new and exciting games but I have to say that of the 6 or so we own Cauldron Quest is definitely my favorite!
