Over the years, my husband and I have done our fair share of selling items we no longer use or that we simply want an upgrade for. Usually my husband sells the tech stuff like old cellphones and televisions and I try and sell smaller things like kitchen appliances or household items. It can be quite a process to post an item, wait for someone to email you about it, then you have to arrange the sale or ship things. To be honest, we haven’t sold things in a while because it’s kind of a hassle. Gone! takes all of the work out of selling, making it easier for both the seller and buyer.
Designed to help sell your things, Gone! is a data-driven concierge service that makes it simple to turn your unwanted items into cash. Gone! uses algorithms to find the best selling price for your item, then offers shipping services once you’re ready to sell, and will send payment with your earnings once your item has sold.
To start selling, you can either take a picture or video of your item or use the Discovery function to list items to sell. You can hook up Gone! with your email so it can track your purchases for when you’re ready to sell them as well. Gone! will then price your item and send you an offer.
When you’re ready to sell, just swipe over the item in your inventory. If you live in either San Francisco or Austin, a Gone! concierge will pick up your items in person. If not, Gone! will send you an empty box through UPS with a prepaid shipping label – then all you have to do is package it up and send it back to them.
Once they receive your items, they’ll inspect them and start looking for buyers. When an item is sold, they send you your payment either via check, putting cash into your account, or through an Amazon gift card.
The Gone! app is incredibly fun and easy to use. I really like the idea of keeping an inventory of my items that I can go through. Some times there are things being unused in closets or cabinets and seeing them in the inventory would just give me that little push I needed to sell it. Using Gone! makes it incredibly easy to sell and feels very safe too. Selling to people I don’t know always makes me somewhat nervous, but with Gone! I no longer have to worry about that. I can’t wait to get to selling and start making some money with Gone!.
