The holidays area busy time of year for most families and things can get rather tiresome. There’s so much going on, sometimes I literally feel like I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I don’t know which way to go or what to do next because it seems that everything needs to be done at once.
And don’t get me started on hosting holiday gatherings. While it’s a lot of fun and great to see those that I love, an awful lot of time and effort go into making everything just perfect. But as I so often hear “there’s an app for that” and thankfully they help to get things done!
With the Lumia 1520 and its personal assistant Cortana, I was able to prep for a festive holiday dinner. It gives me a daily glance so I know if the weather or traffic is bad and I can plan accordingly. I also get people based reminders like lunch with my sister, so I don’t stand her up. It can even help me find articles of interest on the web and screen my calls/texts when I’m busy.
Other great apps that I found useful include Evernote which allowed me to make my lists and stay organized. MixRadio helped with some cheerful holiday tunes and BigOven provided wonderful recipe ideas. We cozied up with the Fireplace app and I was able to edit these photos right from Afterlight!
The Lumia 1520 features a nice and large 6 inch 1080p full HD display so it’s nice and big for texting, taking photos, browsing recipe and playing games. It comes with Windows Phone 8.1and a swipe-able smartphone keyboard. It’s perfect for work or play!
