We all know how important it is to recycle and most of us do our part to either reuse things or put them out for recycling. But what about the products from your bathroom? Do you forget to recycle those? I admit it, I often do. I especially forget about those shampoo bottles. But many people forget to recycle in the bathroom and that’s why Johnson & Johnson Family of Consumer Companies launched Care To Recycle last October.
This Saturday, November 15th is America Recycles Day, and it’s the only day dedicated to national recycling. Since recycling in the bathroom is often forgotten about, J&;J started the #CareToRecycle conversation and they want you to join in by sharing your tips, tricks and ideas on how to recycle those bathroom products. Share your ideas on Twitter, Instagram, Vine, or directly via the hashtag gallery on caretorecycle.com and make sure to use the #CareToRecycle and #entry hashtags for a chance to win a Johnson & Johnson prize pack.
Join the #CareToRecycle Twitter Party!
The Motherhood is hosting a #CareToRecycle Twitter Party tomorrow, November 13th at 1pm ET. They’ll be chatting all about tips and ideas for recycling and of course there will be prizes too! There are 5 – $25 gift cards up for grabs and you can RSVP for the #CareToRecycle Twitter Party here.
Recycling is easier when your home is organized and you can share your ideas at?Care To Recycle throughout the month of November. There will be prompts, conversation starters and some of the best ideas will be exclusively featured by Care To Recycle, crediting the original user who submitted the idea!
It’s not only important for us to recycle as adults, we need to teach our children about recycling as well. Children learn through imitation, so let them help you with your recycling efforts. The image below shows some easy ideas like a pencil holder out of an old soap bottle, faucet extension for little hands and a flower pot, among many other great ideas.
I love to get crafty when I recycle, if I can. I’m all about re-using things and it’s fun to find a new purpose for things that might otherwise be discarded. One of our lovely writers Danielle has shared some great ideas on hoe to re-use toilet paper rolls recently right here at Outnumbered 3 to 1, as well as on her own blog, Lean Green Mom. These are super fun craft projects that you can do with the kids, while teaching them to re-use and recycle at the same time.
This first one if my favorite and something that I totally want to make next year for some of my kids’ teachers.? It’s a DIY Back to School Supply Caddy and uses just 3 items, 2 of which are recycled!
This next craft idea is quite fitting with Thanksgiving just a few weeks away. It’s a Thankful Turkey Thanksgiving Craft and is a perfect way to not only teach your children about recycling, but also for them to share what they’re thankful for this time of year. You’ll be teaching your child two great things, while having fun crafting, so they won’t even realize that they’re learning!
There are so many ways that you can recycle and I encourage you to stop over for tomorrow’s Twitter Party and chat with me. But if you can’t join, definitely check out the Care to Recycle gallery for great tips and ideas!
