At the end of a long week, I like a good cocktail to unwind. Between chasing after a toddler, cooking dinner, and keeping the house somewhat orderly for 5 days in a row, I need a little break. As much as I love a flavorful and fun cocktail, I usually end up drinking something plain, like a vodka tonic, because I don’t want to consume extra calories from drinking. Now that I’ve been introduced to Slim Lizzy’s Cocktails, I can have a great tasting, low calorie cocktail without any of the guilt.
For Slim Lizzy’s, taste matters. Slim Lizzy’s Cocktails taste like the real thing. We removed the nasty malt because we are not drinking beer here. We eliminated carbonation, so no belly bloat. Most importantly, we developed an honest-to-goodness low calorie cocktail that puts the real thing to the test – maybe even better.
Whether I’m tailgating on Saturdays for football or just relaxing at home, Slim Lizzy’s are perfect. My favorite flavor was the Margarita one. I love that they don’t make me all bloated and malt in beverages gives me a terrible headache. These tasted great straight out of the can and it was nice to just be able to pop open a can and have something to drink without worrying about consuming too many calories.
Slim Lizzy’s are also perfect for mixing into a cocktail. Their website is full of great recipes and they keep all of the drinks under 150 calories. My favorite is the Cran-Apple Cosmo which uses just 1 oz. cranberry juice, 1 oz. apple juice, and a little lime and is only 56 calories. I couldn’t order a tasty drink like this with such low calories at a bar no matter where I went.
I have already told all of my mom friends and girlfriends about this. I cannot wait to start seeing these available when I go out because I would definitely not order anything else.
