School is in full swing for most of the country on a traditional calendar. It’s a time full of excitement, nervousness, and eagerness for most people. But for some families, the start of a new school year comes with frustration and challenges where money is tight. It can be difficult to afford a new backpack and school supplies that each child/ren needs. That’s why Office Depot is helping those in need start their year off right!
In it’s 14th year, the Office Depot Foundation plans on donating 350,000 sackpacks to kids in all fifty states, Puerto Rico, and other countries through the National Backpack Program during 2014. By the end of the year, more than 3.3 million back and sackpacks will have been donated since 2001.
New for 2014, the specially designed sackpacks come in seven colorful designs. Each one contains a zippered pencil pouch with a pencil, pencil sharpener, eraser, pen, four crayons, and a six-inch ruler with stencils. There are no logos or markings of any kind of the bags, so no worrying if anyone will know where or who gave your child the bag! I think that’s a great touch, no need to draw attention to the bags. The sacks are sturdy and adjustable, so your child’s books, folders, notebooks, and more will fit with ease.
We plan on donating the bags we received to help those in need. Sometimes, it’s difficult to ask for the help you need, so, we’re pattering with the Foundation and giving away a sackpack below.
