My hubby is a Galaxy fan. Since he had the Galaxy S3 a couple of years ago, he was smitten. Sadly his was run over by a car and kicked the bucket, but he’s wanted a new Galaxy ever since. So like any good wife would do, I texted him a photo and rubbed it in his face when my new Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport arrived.
The box was full of everything that I needed including a USB adapting charger, ear buds and a get started guide. The ear buds are an essential tool for the Spotify app that I use while working out and allow me to listen to music during my fitness routine.
Now, I must say that I was not following a fitness routine before the Galaxy S 5 Sport arrived. But with all of the great apps, I felt a bit inspired, so I started walking around our neighborhood a few times a week. Now that the kids are back in school, I plan to start a more direct approach to exercising.
I’ve been using the Map My Fitness app, which is wonderful because it uses GPS to track all of my of my activities when I’m out on my walks. I can see right on the map where I’ve gone and the distances that I’ve walked.Aside from the route traveled, it also shows duration, distance, pace, speed, elevation and calories burned. I love this app for motivation because it constantly pushes me to the next level!
I love the sleek design of the Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport because it can easily fit in my pocket during my routine. It features a 2.5GHz quad-core processor and a Multi Window?2, which is just awesome. With the Multi Window?2, I can just flip through pages and apps without closing a window. For someone like me, who is constantly between emails, social media and the web, that is an awesome feature to have and literally makes my life easier when I’m working on the go!
It does come complete with Google Mobile? wireless services and that’s another added bonus to working on the go. I can access Google Calendar and Drive with just a simple swipe. It’s IP67 water and dust resistant so I don’t have to be as careful with it.
Many people take photos from their smartphones to share on social media when they’re out and about having a good time. I’m no different, in fact I sometimes have to take photos from my phone for specific work projects that I’m working on. That means that a quality camera within my phone is a must and I’m happy to report that the Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport has a camera worth bragging about!
The rear-facing camera has 16 megapixels and phase detection auto focus, zero shutter lag, flash and video capabilities. Now I could have taken a photo of anything to show you, but I thought a photo of a person, in dim light at night would be best – because frankly my regular camera doesn’t perform well under these circumstances. But just look at the photo below of Big Bro. It’s crisp, clear and totally in focus!
I’ve really enjoyed testing out the Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport so far. It’s a great phone and it serves many purposes for me. The hubby had been begging me for it since I got it, but I’m not so sure that I can give it up. I might just have to give him my old phone instead!
