The world that we live in is uncertain. Things can go wonderfully, then in the blink of an eye can turn upside down. There are many families not only across the nation, but around the world, that simply do not have everything that they need. Sadly, back to school time can be quite stressful for many families just trying to make ends meet. With an already tight budget, they’re stressing over purchasing back to school supplies and clothing for their children. You never know just how hard it is until you’ve been there; and trust me, I have.
That’s why my boys and I gather school supplies to donate each year. We take them to their schools and to the local food pantry to distribute as needed. In turn, they’ll disburse them to the students and classrooms that need them the most. Not only are we helping others to get the supplies they need, but I’m teaching my boys an act of kindness and compassion that I hope they will carry with them throughout their lives.
Another way that we give back is by donating all of our old clothing. I usually drop them in a box by our local gas station, which in turn goes to people in need. However, I don’t exactly know where the clothing goes. So when I heard about Schoola and that you can buy and donate clothes to help KIPP Academy’s Music Program, I knew where our next donation would go. I requested a donation bag and filled it up just as soon as it arrived. The postage was prepaid, so I’ll just drop it off right at my post office – super easy!
In turn, Schoola will donate $2 for each $5 made to the school of my choice. They’ll do the same for whichever school you mark on your information form as well.
