With summer in full swing, it can be rather challenging to keep the kids busy for 3 months straight. I’m sure many of you {like me} are already sick of hearing “I’m bored” every couple of days. The good thing is that Milwaukee always has fun things going on in the summer. Here is just a sampling of what Milwaukee has to offer for the kiddos.
Kohl’s Color Wheels Van
The Kohl’s Color Wheels van is a mobile art experience that will be making stops at various festivals throughout the summer. The van is currently at Summerfest through Sunday, July 6th and will be stopping at Bastille Days as well as Festa Italiana. You can check out the Kohl’s Color Wheels van schedule here.
Kohl’s Art Museum Studio
The Milwaukee Art Museum is a beautiful attraction, right on the shore of Lake Michigan. There is a wrap around deck with spectacular views of the lake. The Kohl’s Art Museum Studio was possible through a $6.4 million grant from Kohl’s Cares and is free with museum admission. Kids 12 and under are always free too!
In July, kids can do activities around art and music during Kohl’s Art Generation Family Sundays: The Sound of Color. The Kohl’s Art Generation Studio theme is Music and Art, so kids can check out the special exhibition Kandinsky: A Retrospective and explore all of the art which has been inspired by music.
August is all about Abstract Art and kids will learn how artists use abstract art to encourage us to see the world through their eyes.
So next time the kids say “I’m bored”, just hop in the car or on a bus and head to the beautiful lakefront and make a stop at The Milwaukee Art Museum. I promise you’ll love it!
