Video games are not just for boys. I know plenty of girls who game. In fact, I used to be a “Gamer Girl” before life and work got so busy that I just don’t have that much spare time anymore. Instead that time is tending to a larger house and yard as well as cooking and cleaning for a family of 8. But, I still do enjoy gaming once in awhile when time allows!
I recently came across this really neat MMORPG – Star Stable. It’s geared towards girls ages 7-17 and it helps to promote fun and creativity in a virtual world. What’s really fun is that you get to customize your own character. You can pick the look you want including her hair color, eye color, amount of make up and more.
Once you’ve created your character, then it’s time to choose your horse – which is customizable as well. There are many colors to different horses to choose from and you can pick your favorite mane color as well!
Once you actually start the game, you’ll start in the stable. You’ll preform tasks or quests which will make your reputation increase and in turn, it will grant you access to purchase better clothing and gear. These things will help you to preform better in the game.
The quests are simple tasks, such as gathering goods and performing with your horse. You will also need to groom your horse each day so that it stays happy and performs at its best.
The nice part of Star Stable is that you don’t have to play alone. You can play with friends around the world and even chat to them via the in game chat. You can also participate in competitions with your horse, start/join riding clubs and help your friends out.
Overall, I had a pretty good time playing this game – even though it’s geared towards younger girls! It’s definitely a game that I will continue to play when time allows and I think it’s a definite must play game for horse lovers of all ages! My son walked in and saw me playing and he even wants to check it out!
