We love to do things together as a family. We go boating, camping and to Wisconsin Dells each year. Sometimes we throw other things in the mix – but for vacation type trips, those are the things we do almost every time. With a pet friendly family of 6 on a somewhat tight budget; long, big and expensive vacations just aren’t feasible. So then last year I got this idea – a pretty great idea actually!

I thought a road trip would be a lot of fun. But not just any road trip – I want to Go RVing! It would be such fun for the family and we could travel through a few different states. Seriously people, I’ve got this all planned out in my head already. We’ll go for a week. We’ll get up early, drive for 6 hours, stop somewhere cool for the day and night, then venture off for some fun in that area the next day. We’ll spend another night, take off in the morning and repeat it all.
To me, an RVing road trip sounds like the perfect plan. We could easily fit a rental into the vacation budget. Other than that, we’d just have to buy gas and food. But the upside to a RV as opposed to a hotel is that we can cook right inside, or outside on a grill. We wouldn’t have to eat out at all, unless of course we wanted to. We wouldn’t have to spend any more money on food than if we were eating at home. Another bonus is that we could take the pets if we couldn’t get someone to stay with them for a week. Honestly, I can’t think of one negative and this may sound silly to some, but this is sort of like my dream vacation I’m discussing here. I always told you all I was a simple girl!
I’m actually so excited to go RVing, that my husband and I have been discussing it often. We would really love to take a trip across the US in a motorhome once the kids are all grown. A year long vacation, just him and I. He could take the year off and I could work right from the RV – all I need is a wireless hot spot!
I think it would be an amazing adventure for the two of us. For an entire year, we would just travel, stopping in different places and staying for a week or two. We could fish, hike, see national landmarks – you name it! We would do our research beforehand and sort of map out our journey so that we hit places we’d like to stop and see during our travels.

It would be the adventure of a lifetime for the both of us, and totally our style vacation. While tropical drinks on the beach sure do sound delicious, I prefer to be one with nature, taking in the beauty of the land that surrounds us.
Traveling in a RV would be literally like having a home on wheels. We would have everything that we want and need, right there. They even have a bathroom, with shower!
